This is a part-time job for the 24-25 SY. We are not a Host School for J-1 Applicants.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold Standard State certification, or when and if approved, state licensure in the area of Physical Therapist.
  • Physical Therapists will deliver services as defined by State certification or license in the field or area in which they have taken a course leading to a degree, received supervised training, taken a continuing education course, or had adequate prior experience. 
  • Identify students through screenings who require Physical therapy.
  • Provides physical therapy services to qualified students ages 3-22.
  • Physical Therapists will work independently and must possess high motivation, self-direction, and accountability.  
  • Perform P.T. evaluations per State Department of Education Rules and Regulations/Federal guidelines.
  • Write appropriate Physical Therapy goals for each student through an Individualized Education Plan in compliance with the State Department of Education.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary and I.E.P. conferences, completes I.E.P. according to team input, and explains annual goals, specific objectives, and clarifying programs to parents.
  • Write progress reviews on each student’s progress during each grading period. 
  • Updates I.E.P. annually and makes changes as appropriate, notifying parents of any changes made.
  • Advises when additional I.E.P. conferences are needed; follow-up objectives; changes in program or schedule; planning student’s dismissals; enlisting parents and teachers to use home/classroom speech carry-over programs.
  • Demonstrates time management and case scheduling knowledge, considering age, type of disorder, time available, and school location.
  • Communicates and effectively works with the Special Education Director, parents, regular classroom teachers, and other specialists as necessary to ensure that programs are integrated meaningfully for students.
  • Follows school discipline program to help maintain high standards of pupil behavior.
  • Participates in faculty meetings and other committees (SIT) as designated by the Director of Special Education or building principal.
  • Orders classroom materials and supplies, keeps inventory, supervises students' use of equipment, reports items needing repair, and maintains school property.
  • Maintains professional competence through participation in school in-services and other training.
  • Prepares and maintains reports, records, and files in accordance with District, State, and Federal Guidelines.  
  • Maintains proper security and confidentiality.
  • Complies with District, State, and Federal timelines and regulations.
  • Cooperates/coordinates with other professional service providers to ensure quality service, including proper timelines.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Special Education and each building principal.
