POSITION SUMMARY:
Assisting all students by using the ASCA model framework, which includes focusing on three primary domains: Academic Support, Social/ Emotional Learning, and Career/College Readiness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implements the ASCA model framework to provide services to all students.
- Works to resolve students’ educational roadblocks.
- Plans career pathway field trips to varied post-educational opportunities.
- Makes recommendations to colleges for admissions and scholarships.
- Supervises and assists when necessary in preparing and processing college, scholarship, and employment applications and financial aid packets.
- Provides opportunities for students to evaluate career interests and choices.
- Meets with parents whenever needed.
- Is a member of the IEP and 504 teams.
- Participates in the design and implementation of the master schedule for each year.
- Provides registration and scheduling services for all grades.
- Participates in intervention with administration regarding data collection of trends regarding attendance, discipline, and grades.
- Provide relevant strategies to assist teachers and staff in working with students.
- Provide individual interventions to promote the social/emotional well-being of students.
- Caseload designed by student alphabet for all grade levels.
- Provide small group interventions.

Qualifications:
Degree Requirement
- Master's Degree: A master's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution.
One of the Following (Option A, B, C, or D):
Option A: Guidance and Counseling Graduate Program
- Graduate Program: Completion of a graduate program in guidance and counseling from an accredited institution.

- Practicum/Experience: One of the following:
- Practicum: Completion of a supervised counseling practicum in school counseling from an accredited institution; -OR-
- School Counseling Experience: Verification of two years of full-time experience as a school counselor; - OR-
- Teaching Experience: Verification of three years of full-time teaching experience.

Option B: Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology Graduate Program
- Graduate Program: Completion of a graduate program in counseling, social work, or psychology from an accredited institution.

- Coursework: Completion of six semester hours of courses in any of the following areas: school counseling, college, and career guidance, or academic advising.
- Practicum/Experience: One of the following:
- Practicum: Completion of a supervised counseling practicum in school counseling from an accredited institution; -OR-
- School Counseling Experience: Verification of two years of full-time experience as a school counselor; - OR-
- Teaching Experience: Verification of three years of full-time teaching experience.

Option C: Behavioral Health License
- AZ Board of Behavioral Health License: A valid license as an associate counselor, professional counselor, master or clinical social worker, or marriage and family therapist issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Submit a photocopy of the license.

- Practicum: Completion of a supervised counseling practicum in school counseling from an accredited institution; -OR-
- School Counseling Experience: Verification of two years of full-time experience as a school counselor; - OR-
- Teaching Experience: Verification of three years of full-time teaching experience.
