The Show Low Unified School District is seeking highly motivated and passionate applicants for the position of Elementary School Principal. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership skills that will enable them to motivate, lead, and inspire effectively.  Applicants should demonstrate a high level of integrity and the ability to successfully navigate complex situations while bringing students, staff, and the community together.  The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking individual who is innovative in their approach to student success.  Applicants should be able to establish a vision for success and engage all stakeholders in that vision.  The ability to implement consistent, firm, and effective approaches to discipline is essential while establishing realistic expectations for students and staff.

 

The Principal will Prepare

 

  1. Promote a "Growth Mindset" within the staff and amongst the students
  2. Have a working knowledge of applicable district and departmental policies and procedures
  3. Maintain strong working relationships with staff while helping each to grow professionally
  4. Ability to understand and respond to the ever changing needs of a diverse population of students, while ensuring best practices for the 21st Century learner are in place and adhered to

 

The Principal is Essential in helping all to Achieve

 

  1. Facilitate the continued implementation of Beyond Textbooks
  2. Ensure adherence to district "Points of Pride"
  3. Utilize pertinent sources of information, e.g. surveys, test scores, etc. to determine program effectiveness and to lead staff through the change process  

 

The Principal will Lead

 

  1. Promote positive action toward realization of vision for the success of Whipple Ranch Elementary utilizing all stakeholders
  2. Develop a sense of community in which student and staff relationships are highly valued
  3. Use a variety of means to communicate with staff to keep them informed of policy changes, new programs, areas for improvement and recognition of exceptional performance
  4. Provide direct supervision of all staff and students at Whipple Ranch Elementary 

 

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education and a minimum of three years’ experience as a teacher or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
