POSITIONS SUMMARY:
Performs duties involving the maintenance of grounds, fields, lawns, trees, shrubs, etc., and athletic structures, and the repair, maintenance, and minor installation of a wide variety of equipment including sprinkler systems. Small construction jobs may also be included.
This position involves the care and upkeep of assigned grounds. Operates the use of various pieces of equipment such as tractor, mowers, etc. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. May involve minor construction, equipment repair, installation of automatic and manual sprinkler systems, and other related work. May be assigned to do cleaning and maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain grounds, e.g. water, prune trees, pick up, dispose of trash, mow lawns, etc.
- Secure buildings and areas as required.
- May perform work on minor construction or remodeling projects.
- May perform outside and inside painting on buildings and structures.
- Snow and ice removal from sidewalks, driveways, etc.
- Ability to operate and maintain the following: power tools and other tools, mower, trimmer, rake, hoe, wheelbarrow, clippers, blowers, tillers, spreaders, etc.
- Install and maintain both automatic and manual sprinkler systems.
- Occasional heavy equipment operation.
- Service grounds equipment (Fueling, Cleaning, Fluid Levels, etc.)
- Maintains athletic structures for the safety of participants & spectators.
- Help market the Show Low School District through well-maintained grounds.
- Other duties as assigned within area of job responsibility.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Must possess a valid Arizona Drivers License. Ability to operate various types of power equipment applicable to the job being performed. At least one-year experience is desirable. Be able to perform moderately heavy physical work, e.g. lift up to 100 lb. Must be able to work cooperatively with other personnel.
